The NPS Blog launched in January 2021 as the public intellectual and activist arm of New Political Science: A Journal of Politics and Culture. The journal is an official publication of the Caucus for a New Political Science (CNPS), a group of left political scientists who want to make the study of politics relevant to the struggle for a better world.
The journal focuses on developing analyses which reflect a commitment to progressive social change. It adopts the broadest possible definition of “politics” and holds that political and cultural development cannot be understood in isolation from each other. All research articles in the journal have undergone rigorous double-blind peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing. The journal is co-edited by Prof. Judith Grant (Ohio University) and Dr. Claire Snyder-Hall (independent scholar).
The NPS Blog provides a public space for scholars and activists to participate in the project initiated by Karl Marx long ago: To move beyond academic philosophy, which often only interprets to the world, whereas the point is to change it.
If you would like to submit a post to this blog, please email it to Claire Snyder-Hall at claire.snyderhall@gmail.com or Judith Grant at grantj1@ohio.edu for consideration.
